Top 5 Money Saving Tips During Travel and Vacation

While it's fun to get away from it all and have a vacation, actually having one is becoming more and more expensive already with all the crazy hikes in expenses. But by following these tested and proven money-saving tips, you will be surprised at how much you could save on your next vacation.

1.Take Advantage of Coupons – these coupons may pertain to discount theme park tickets to restaurant coupons from inside the theme park. If you can spare a few minutes every day, spend those minutes just looking for coupons. You are bound to find some because there are really good sources out there on the internet today.

2.Rent a Car – renting a car may seem like a luxury for a lot of people, but it's actually a big money-saver, especially if you are planning on moving a lot and you don't want to bring your car with you. Sometimes an airport shuttle may also be more expensive. And with renting a car, sometimes you could also use coupons so you could save even more with your expenses.

3.Bring your own food – a lot of food joints inside theme parks and near tourist spots serve the usual food but at unusually high prices. If you want to avoid paying for a hotdog twice its usual price, you could save a lot by packing in your own lunch or even just snacks. You will be surprised at how much you could save by eating your own sandwiches for lunch or breakfast.

4.Make your own reservations – it's true that getting the vacation package is more convenient for you. But there might be times when it will turn out to be more expensive. If you want to avoid spending too much and if you still have an ample time to prepare for you vacation, you should make your own reservations to hotels and get your own tickets.

5.Give your kids a set budget to spend – a vacation without a pocket money is hardly a vacation at all. But with all the expenses from the reservations that you make, sometimes you srimp too much on your pocket money just to fit everything in your budget. If you want to avoid disappointing your kids that they won't get to buy the souvenirs that they like, and disappointing yourself that you are going over budget just to give what your kids want—give them a set amount to spend during the entire vacation. And if you've followed the previous tips, you could give your kids a little extra and you still won't go over the budget.

Having a vacation these days has become more expensive, but that doesn't mean that you can't do anything about it. If you follow these money-saving tips, then you could still have as much fun during your vacation without spending extra!
